I have always been deeply passionate about improving people’s lives and creating positive impacts on communities. My journey in the media and entertainment industry allowed me to connect with audiences through storytelling and visuals, but I felt the urge to contribute more directly to the well-being of individuals. As I reflected on my experiences and interests, I realized the immense potential of leveraging technology and innovation in the health & wellness space.

Building a health & wellness startup aligns perfectly with my vision of making a meaningful difference in people’s lives. I firmly believe that every individual deserves access to quality health and wellness services. Zen Tech Asia is founded on the principle of being customer-centric, valuing their feedback, and delivering what they truly need and deserve. This mission resonates deeply with me, as it empowers me to connect people to services that enhance their well-being.

If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?

Change is inevitable, and life is filled with unexpected twists and turns. Looking back on the past year or two, I would advise myself to be more adaptable and open-minded about embracing change. It’s essential to recognize that change can bring both challenges and opportunities. Rather than resisting change, I would encourage myself to view it as a chance to grow, learn, and explore new possibilities.

In the face of uncertainties, it’s crucial to stay curious and proactive. Don’t be afraid to take calculated risks and venture into new territories. Be open to exploring different paths and opportunities, even if they might seem unfamiliar or outside of your comfort zone.

Moreover, I would remind myself to prioritize self-care and well-being during times of change and uncertainty. Taking care of one’s physical and mental health is vital to navigate through challenges and make the most out of opportunities.

Lastly, I would encourage myself to stay focused on my goals but be flexible in the approach to achieving them. Life might not always go as planned, and that’s okay. It’s important to stay resilient, stay true to your values, and adapt your strategies when necessary to reach your objectives.

What is the inspiration behind your business?

The inspiration behind our business stems from a personal experience during the pandemic. As a user of health & wellness services, I encountered numerous pain points in finding suitable therapists and accessing quality services. At the same time, I observed a significant number of skilled and dedicated therapists struggling to find enough clients and facing financial difficulties.

Realizing the untapped potential of both sides – clients seeking personalized and convenient wellness services and therapists in need of empowerment and more job opportunities – I felt compelled to create a solution that addresses these challenges for both parties.

Our startup was born out of the desire to bridge the gap between health & wellness clients and therapists, providing a platform that offers smarter, certified therapist matching with ease and greater accessibility. We aim to streamline the entire process of connecting clients with therapists who align with their needs and preferences, creating a more satisfying and rewarding experience for all.

The biggest challenge we’ve faced so far is the lack of sufficient funding, especially during this economic downturn. As a bootstrapped health & wellness startup, we have been operating with limited financial resources, which has impacted our ability to maximize our go-to-market (GTM) strategies and marketing efforts while simultaneously building and enhancing our technology platform.

Due to the financial constraints, we have had to carefully prioritize and allocate our resources to ensure the most essential aspects of our business receive adequate attention. This has sometimes resulted in slower progress in certain areas, such as marketing and technology development, which are crucial for gaining traction and attracting a larger user base.

The need for funds to invest in marketing and technology development has forced us to reevaluate our approach and change course at times. We have had to be creative and resourceful in finding alternative solutions to push forward without compromising the quality and vision of our platform.

In seeking funding during this downturn, we have faced challenges in attracting investors who may be more cautious about investing in startups due to the economic uncertainties.
